Rescue Course

MBT's Rescue Diver Course, you'll learn how to manage risks and effectively handle diving emergencies, and how to perform surface and subsurface rescues from both boat and shore.  The course consists of a minimum of one classroom session, one pool session, and two days of diving. 

   The course relies heavily on practical application in a variety of scenarios in the pool and open water.  Specific topics include: 

Diver stress recognition and management
Surface and Subsurface Rescues
Buddy Tows
Panicked Diver
Unconscious Diver on Surface and Underwater
In Water Rescue Breathing
Water Exits and Transport
Immediate Action and First Aid
Emergency Contingency Planning
 
 

CPR and First Aid certifications are required and are scheduled concurrently with this course.  This course is a prerequisite for those wishing to continue on to Assistant Instructor, Divemaster, or Instructor.
