Dive Master Course
Looking to move up to the professional ranks? The first step is the Dive Master certification, and MBT Divers offers the most comprehensive Dive Master training available! Unlike many Dive Master Training programs that are primarily interested in meeting quotas, our Dive Masters truly EARN their certification. Although we haven't completed the numbers of Dive Master certifications as some area shops, MBT has trained more Working Dive Masters than any other shop in the area.
Our 3 phase program is designed to provide each candidate with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the industry.
Phase One: Academics
Dive Master (DM) candidates will complete the required book work and work with Instructors and Dive Masters during classes.
Phase Two: Shop Apprentice
Dive Master Candidates will learn the basics of dive shop operations including: safety, equipment management, and sales.
Phase Three: Boat Apprentice
Dive master candidates will spend time on the various charter boats along side of working dive masters learning about boat operations including: basic seamanship, dive boat operation and maintenance, dive master duties, and customer service.
Course scheduling is up to the candidate based upon time available for training and performance.
